Getting Started
When you first start Dicer, you'll have a standard six-sided die. Click on the dice or press the spacebar to roll it. Each roll generates points based on the number you roll. These points are your currency for purchasing upgrades in the shop panel on the right side of the screen.
Core Game Mechanics
Rolling the Dice: Every time you roll, you earn points equal to the number shown (modified by any active bonuses). There's a brief cooldown between rolls to prevent spam-clicking, making each roll feel meaningful and rewarding.
Luck System: Your luck level gives you a chance to automatically reroll and take the higher value. Higher luck means more frequent lucky rerolls, dramatically increasing your average points per roll. Luck is calculated as a percentage chance based on your upgrade level.
Critical Hits: Based on your prestige level, you have a chance to score critical hits that double your points. Critical hits are marked with a golden dice animation and a satisfying sound effect, making them exciting moments worth celebrating.
Upgrade Strategy
The shop offers three main types of upgrades, each serving a different purpose in your progression:
- Luck Upgrades: Starting at 50 points and increasing by 25 per level, luck upgrades provide the best value in early game. Each level increases your luck multiplier by 0.1x, giving you more chances to reroll for higher values.
- Dice Sides: At 200 points base cost (increasing by 50 per level), this upgrade increases your maximum roll value. Caps at level 25 for 56 sides maximum. This is your mid-game power spike.
- Roll Speed: Costs 700 points initially (increasing by 100 per level), this reduces the cooldown between rolls. At level 10, you unlock the powerful auto-roll feature that automatically clicks for you, transforming Dicer into a true idle game.
Special Dice Types
As you accumulate points, you can unlock special dice variants that provide unique benefits:
- Fire Dice (5000 points): Features beautiful flame animations and provides a +0.3 luck bonus, giving you significantly more reroll chances. Perfect for maximizing your average roll value.
- Ice Dice (10000 points): Comes with cool water droplet effects and provides a +0.5 luck bonus - the highest in the game. This is the ultimate dice for serious players pushing for high scores.
Prestige System Explained
Once you reach 5000 points (increasing by 5000 per prestige level), you can prestige to reset all your upgrades and unlocks in exchange for a permanent +1% critical hit chance. This is the key to long-term progression in Dicer. Each prestige level makes every future run stronger, creating a satisfying loop of growth even after reset.
Prestige is capped at 100 levels, meaning the maximum critical hit chance is 100%. This creates natural long-term goals and milestones to work towards over many play sessions.
